Ny Q&A med Jack Morrisey
I loved the part in the book when Charlie visits the Cullens and realizes Renesmee is E&B’s child. Will this be in the movie?
Jack: It’s gotta be, don’t you think? Yep yep. — JackWill Edward carry Bella across the threshold again?
Jack: No, Bella is a vampire now, so she’s in control. You will like this. — J.Will Bella attack Seth in the imprinting scene like in the book or Jacob? I’d really like it if she hurt Jacob!
Jack: You’ll enjoy all aspects of the scene where B. learns that J. imprinted on Renesmee. Both J. and S. are in it. – JCan you confirm at this point that the song from the Target clip will actually make the cut? *fingers crossed*
Jack: Yes, the song from the Target clip will be in the movie, I believe. — JackWill Nessie ever know that Jacob imprinted on her? that its her destiny to stay with him?
Jack: Hmmm, no I wouldn’t put it that way. — J.I’m dying to know, though the scene was only alluded to in the book, will we see Jacob strip in front of Charlie?
Jack: Hope springs eternal. And you should know what that means by now. Nice body. Very nice, as you know. — Jack
Will there be a scene where Renesmee bangs on a spoon waiting for Bella to feed her?
Jack: No, we don’t have that scene. Sorry! — J.Do the Denalis have a crest? There’s much contemplation right now! WB: I know, I know! Another crest question! Lol
Jack: Not that I’ve noticed, actually. I don’t think so. — JackBill won’t make it to ComicCon this year ???
Jack: Bill will be recording the score for the LAST. TWI. MOVIE. EVAR at Abbey Road Studios, in London, with Carter once again. – J.In the trailer, where did all the Volturi witnesses go? I’m assuming that its only the Volturi army attacking the Cullens.
Jack: Just wait for the final shots. — JackGreetings from MA – Will there be a lot of Daddy moments with Renesmee?
Jack: Hey there, MA! Yeah, you’ll be satisfied with Daddyward or whatever you’re calling him now. ;-P — JackI wonder if the Volturi would be in a private plane. I don’t suppose they’d swim the Atlantic, fur coat and all
Jack: I think private jet, yes. — Jack
…and the fur coats have been left home, for the most part. — JackWill BD2 start with Bella running thru the forest or when she wakes up? I’d love to see her backflip off the table.
Jack: Both. Heh heh heh. — JackWill we be seeing any flashbacks in pt2? Esp. with Bella’s newfound power?
Jack: Mmmmmmmaybeeeeeee….. — J.When Nahuel and Hulien come to intervene in the final battle will he also have one of his sisters with him?
Jack: No, he will not. Just his aunt. — JackI do not understand anything. Everyone spoke of vision about the final battle. You confirm the battle is real?!
Jack: I confirm nothing! ;-D — JackDoes Bella wear a coat? Will Mackenzie be at SDCC? Will we see Alec use his power in BD2? WB: I combined her ?s
Jack: 1. Yes 2. Dunno. 3. Yes. — J.Are there more special effects in bd pt.2 or pt 1.?
Jack: Way more visual effects in PART II. Waaaay more. — JackWhen does Bill have to have the final cut of BDpt2 completed? Is there an actual date?
Jack: The cut is already completed. — JackAny chance they’ll release a preview for us of Edward playing Renesmee’s lullaby?
Jack: Not that I’ve heard, not yet. — JackHi! I wanna know if in BD2 we are gonna get a lot of the relationship between Edward and Renesmee?
Jack: Yes, we are. — JackCan you tell us what is happening in the scene of the new still (many characters sitting around a camp fire)?
Jack: Trading war stories, after the snow starts to stick…. — JackBill surprised us with Flightless Bird, American Mouth at the wedding in BD1. Will there be more surprises in BD2?
Jack: Yes, more surprises coming… — JackSome people think that in that scene, the Romanians are telling what the Volturi did to them. Are they?
Jack: Yes they are, amongst other witnesses telling war stories… — JackIn the beginning of the trailer Bella holds her baby for the first time. Was it a real baby?
Jack: Shot to shot different methods, and babies, were used. — J.// Prietha

Tracey Heggins om att vara med i Breaking Dawn Part II
Celebuzz: What was it like being cast in such a huge franchise like Twilight?
TH: It’s so funny, because I always say I’m just this little fish in this big, happy pond. Everyone from Rob, Kristen, to Stephenie Meyer– they were all so kind. As soon as Peter Facinelli walked on set, he welcomed us. It’s just been a blessing to be in fantasyland and to be an adult that can just play make-believe.
CB: Were you a fan of the books and the series before you got cast for the role?
TH: Yes, I was! I am such a science fiction, fantasy girl. I have a t-shirt called “Sci-Fi Fantasy Girl.” So just anything like vampires, werewolves or fairies, I love it! And then when you put vampires and werewolves together, I was so there.
CB: How was the audition process?
TH: There weren’t any black girls or Afro-Latina girls in the franchise, so my friends and I all were like, ‘We want this!’ I went out for it and then I had a second callback and hadn’t heard anything. It actually happened when I was visiting my grandparents out on the East Coast, and then I was in a mall screaming, and people were looking at me. So then I was humiliated, but in a good way.
CB: Tell us about your role in the movie.
TH: I play the role of Senna, the oldest vampire. I come from the frame of reference where Zafrina, my vampire sister, has hooked me up again in some kind of situation and I’m here now. And all of the sudden, I want to help and defend these people [Cullens]. I’m very excited, because Senna loves to fight. She loves to kick butt and take names. I don’t want to give too much away, but Senna is ready to go.
CB: Mackenzie Foy plays Bella and Edward’s child, Renesmee. What was the dynamic like with her on set?
TH: She is so genuine. Mackenzie is a real live little girl. Every time she was on set, we all doted around her. She has that kind of sweet spirit, and I can see how she booked it because it just comes through.
CB: The film’s director, Bill Condon, said it brought out a very paternal and motherly part of Rob and Kristen on set —aside from their swearing! Would you agree?
TH: Yes, Mackenzie had a swear dish, so each swear was per dollar. Some people said, “I’ll give you 20 dollars now before we even start working.” So, she whooped us all into shape with our dirty mouths.
CB: What was it like working with stars like Robert and Kristen?
TH: It was good because they were both really down to earth. It’s very scary to go off on a set with huge names. I mean, when you are number one on IMDB, it’s a little intimidating. But they were just cool, and Kristen was like a tomboy and was so down to earth. Rob was the same way. He actually has this almost self-deprecating, ‘Oh, did I just say that?’ And I understand why he did that because it made everyone else feel so comfortable. So thank you, Robert!
CB: Were there any on-set pranks or jokes?
TH: We actually surprised Bill Condon, our director, with a little song and dance, and it was out of the blue which was pretty awesome. He had no idea it was going on but just to see his face, because he is such a jokester, was great. I know some people are like, ‘It [on set] can’t be all that fun.’ But it really was fun.
CB: What was it like filming the last scene of the series? Were there any tears on set?
TH: Yes, especially when we went back to re-shoot. It was really like, ‘This is over now.’ That was really rough. You feel like a void when it’s all done. No matter how much is in the movie or not in the movie, we spent a lot of time together. Everyone from all the behind-the-scenes people and wardrobe, etc. make a set happen. I’ll be honest: we all got a little misty — even Rob and Kristen.
CB: Do you think you are prepared for the crazy Twilight fandom when the movie comes out?
TH: Of course not! I don’t think anyone can be prepared for any of this. It’s pandemonium. The fans are so sweet and they are so focused, and they know what they want and they like it. You do a movie like this, and you get fans that it takes other movies years to get. We couldn’t be more blessed.
CB: What was your favorite thing about playing Senna?
She’s strong and quiet. I just think that with a strong, quiet person, she is thoughtful, too. I like playing people that are like that. There are a lot of maternal things going on with these girls [Senna and Zafrina] that Bella and Edward would want their help and have them around. Playing that role of Senna is just an honor. It’s an honor to be a part of this, and I have no complaints at all.

Intervju med snygga Xavier Samuel
The role of Riley in Twilight was a huge break for you. How did you land that?
I’d been sending taped auditions off to America for quite a while around that time. It’s a bizarre process. you put yourself on tape then you send it off into the ether and you don’t know whose desk it lands on or even if anyone watches. So to even hear back is a surprise. I remember [the message] arriving and I thought, Oh wow. This is one of those movies where everyone’s got the lunch-box, and the pillow case and it’s advertised on the back of buses. I was sure it was never going to happen, but I thought Why not? I found out it had come down to me and three other guys.
Any idea who they were?
I don’t actually. But i flew myself to Vancouver to meet David Slade the director. He was very kind and had a lot of interesting things to say about the character.
Can you talk a bit about the character, for those not as familiar as some with the Twilight world?
He operates as kind of the bad guy in the film, although I think he’s a little more complicated than that. When you first meet him, he’s got the world at his feet. He’s a budding university student with a bright future. Then he gets attacked by a mysterious vampire, who turns out to be Victoria, Bryce Dallas Howard’s character – she’s amazing by the way, so talented. I felt as if there was something Blade Runner-esque about him, as if he’d had his humanity snatched away from him and that’s where the remorse and his genuine hatred for humanity came from – the fact that he isn’t human any more. There’s also this kind of Macbeth/Lady Macbeth relationship with him and Victoria, where she has him under her spell and he has to do her bidding. It seemed to me the deeper you dug, there was a well of stuff there. Even though it’s a commercial film and it’s more about the love triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob, I thought it was important to investigate [Riley] and come up with something more than your typical sneering bad guy.
How do you feel about the fan aspect of Twilight?
I feel alright about it.
Would you ever want the level of fame and adoration it’s brought Robert Pattinson?
I think that kind of adoration is a grotesque thing to yearn for, because it’s not about you. It’s about something else entirely. I’m trying to think of an example of where that adoration is genuine. I have no idea where it comes from. I feel a little bit removed from it actually. Obviously I’m not under the microscope like those other guys are.
Not yet.
Right. It hasn’t been too invasive so far. I look at it and go, Okay, people are excited about the film, they like the story. That level of enthusiasm is a powerful thing.

Breaking Dawn Q&A med Jack Morrissey
" By any chance is the jacket Edward wears in the promo poster the same as used in Twilight?
Jack: I don’t think so, but I should ask. I really doubt it, though.
Can you tell us who plays Jenks? The character isn’t on the IMDB list!
Jack: We answered this already. Its Wendell Pierce
What company made the contacts worn in BD2?
Jack: Oh I dunno. Stay on me about this and I’ll find out from Greg Yolen.
Is there gonna be an extended version of BD1?
Jack: What did Bill say about this in his commentary track on the PART I Blue/DVD?
Love the new E/B/R pic from @EW… who designed Bella’s pants? I love them!
Jack: Costume designer Michael Wilkinson either designed or selected them.
How many phases of Renesmee’s growth will we see?
Jack: Many more than one!
If we don’t get the full trailer till fall, do we still get scenes at Comic Con Anyway?
Jack: You’ll see stuff you haven’t seen yet inside Hall H for the last TWILIGHT panel at SDCC. Better get down there!
Why did they label Renesmee as ”Wild Child”?
Jack: Yeah, I just looked at that again and wondered the same thing. It’s catchy. Don’t worry about that, trust me.
We want Kristen and Rob doing the promo together like in Twilight please :( without Tay
Jack: Taylor’s a person, too.
I know but Rob and Kristen since Twilight they haven’t have one promo that they’ve done together and we (the fans) miss that
Jack: I don’t have any influence on that stuff – sorry!
Noticed lots of people putting in requests for BD2 soundtrack to Jack. Makes me wonder, does he ask Bill?
Jack: Do I ask Bill what? Soundtrack requests coming in the front door usually can’t go anywhere. By the way, listening to ”With You In My Head” by Unkle from ECLIPSE as I type this…
Can you please thank Bill or whoever is responsible for bringing back Edward’s pea coat?!
Jack: Sure, that would be Bill and the recently-mentioned Michael Wilkinson, the costume designer.
ed. note: #TaamPeacoatFTW
Please keep podcasting after 50 episodes! I don’t want them to end! Lol :) thank you
Jack: Don’t worry about that – we’ll keep making them as long as we, and you, keep digging them. Thanks!
By the teaser, I can say that there will be A LOT of the Volturi, am I right? I LOVE THEM [Aro and Jane, specially]
Jack: Yep, a whole field full of ‘em. ”They even brought the wives.”;-D
P.S. SO MUCH Aro and Jane for you to look forward to.
Is it possible BD2 will premiere in Italy? With Rob and Kris?
Jack: International premiere questions, and who’s attending, all have the same answer always.
Are we going to get more Action Bella? Are we going to see a fight: Bella versus Jane?
Jack: I think you got at least part of your answer in the new teaser. Too soon to tell anything else.
Does Nessie get a Cullen Crest Necklace?
Jack: Not quite – she wears another accessory of significance.
Will Bella get her Ferrari in BD2?
Jack: Already answered!
ed. note: see previous Q&A. Search ”Ferrari”
Will there be an extra scene in the credits for BD2 like there was for BD1?
Jack: Hmm, too soon to tell.
It would be great if they’d release a character poster a week for BD2. WB: agreed! Where’s Peter?! #TeamPeter :)
Jack: Keep your eyes peeled across the interwebs…
In the teaser, when Irina tells them about Renesmee, Aro says ”All mine” or ”Oh my…”?
Jack: ”Oh my…”
Has Bill Condon ever been to Turkey or Istanbul?
Jack: Not so far as I know.
I like the look & everything & that each character has their own. Will there be other kinds of posters though?
Jack: I hope so! Or at least a few calendars, right?
You should do a TJ meetup at Comic Con! WB: :D
Jack: You can handle that one, WB. Give those directions out!
WB:You mean to the hall H line? ;) We’ll have banners and shirts! You can’t miss us! Lol ;)Jack: Pigpen FTW!!!
WB:*whispers* um, jack… This year we have silhouette shirts. Remember? ;) and buttons to hand out!! ;DJack: Didn’t I see the word ”banners” above?! : Scrolls up: Um, yes!!!!!
WB: you are correct! Yet another detail I missed this evening, the banner is our lovely mascot PigPen! :)
Will there be an explanation or even a mention of Quileute’s is Shape-Shifters and not Children of the Moon?
Jack: Hmmm, too soon to tell in June…
Will we be getting a character poster for Renesmee? I would love that!
Jack: I don’t know if she’ll get her own poster or theatre banner but I’m sure she’ll be included on one of ‘em.
Are you following Rob and Kristen in Cannes? Is Bill excited about it?
Jack: Bill kept up with the reviews, yeah, as he always does.
Do you know when will be the next worldwide promotion stuff?
Jack: Comic-Con, it’s not worldwide it’s limited to US. Then I guess the final trailer.
Is there a reflection in Jacob’s eye? It kind of looks like it but it’s hard to tell since it’s so small. (in poster)
Jack: Hmm, I kinda doubt it, but ours are hanging in frames in the editing room, so I can’t even run up and look.
Why is BD2 coming out over a year after it was filmed and BD1 came out in theaters?
Jack: There are over TWO THOUSAND visual effects shots that need to be finished.
Will we see more of baby Nessie w/ Edward and Bella or will it be everything with Mackenzie?
Jack: Both, and also other growth between. Half-human/half-vampire kids – they grow up so fast!!!!
Because this film created such an epic romance, is it possible to get Rob’s audition video released?
Jack: Hmmm, who knows? Tweet Summit – we don’t have it! I only have @erikodom‘s audition – and it’s AWESOME!!!
Do you know if Kristen kept any props/costumes from Breaking Dawn? WB: or anyone, for that matter?
Jack: I don’t know, actually. I kind of doubt it.
Will we get to see anymore of agonizing Bella during her transformation or do we go straight to vamp mode?
Jack: Well kinda sorta…
What are your favorite trailers?
Jack: Uh…for future movies or older movies?
Was Bill happy with the MTV Movie Award? WB: Can’t recall if this was already answered. Apologies in advance if was.
Jack: Yeah he was. We don’t have it yet, though. Hmm.
Will *you* be at Comic Con? :)
Jack: Yes I will, and thank you for asking – it’ll be my TENTH consecutive Comic-Con! See YOU there?
In the posters we see E with a kinda classic look like in the 1st 2 films. Will he wear clothes like this in BD2?
Jack: Yes, everything you’ve seen on the EW covers and posters are actual costumes seen in the film.
Do you have a picture/info on the music for the score song Love Death Birth please? I wanna play it!
Jack: Like sheet music? Did they ever publish any? We don’t have it, I don’t think.
RIP Pigpen… Have you and Bill made room in your hearts for a new dog yet? A Schroeder or Linus perhaps?
Jack: No, and this will not be happening as I myself am enjoying my freedom again.
I know you answered this before but I was confused by twitter lol…do you know how the premier is going to work? Thanks :)
Jack: Are you asking about LOTTERYGATE 2012???
More: lmao yes that would be it, I’ve just heard so many things by now would love to know what’s going on for real if u can tell us :)
Jack: HONESTLY there’s nothing to tell as NOTHING has been decided yet. Do NOT lose sleep over this, is my advice. Seriously.
More: The Hunger Games premier was an awful experience & since they are under the same company now…ya know? Thanks for the info hun!!
Jack: TWILIGHT and THG were handled by two separate teams and Team TWILIGHT will be finishing what they started and grew.
More: Ohh really? That’s awesome! I mean THG movie was great but the premier thing was horrible. Stood in a parking garage for 13 hrs
Jack: That was their first premiere. Team TWILIGHT has executed four. Don’t worry about it.
Will Bella be attacking Jacob in bd2?
Jack: Too soon, too soon…
So bd2 does not start with quotes like the other four, right?
Jack: Maybe not, maybe…
Can’t wait to see what we get for Bella’s birthday! Any hints? WB: btw, LOVE the birthday theme this year, ;)
Jack: I have no idea, when is that again? Hey, I’m a BATTLESTAR guy, not a Twihard!
Bella’s BDay is the 13th of September. And Renesmee’s is the 10th of September.
Jack: Hmmm sounds like prime trailer time to me! And no, that is not official and I’m not hinting at anything I know.
Is this the last trailer we will see?
Jack: Nope – still have a final trailer and all those talk show clips and TV spots to freeze-frame in the fall! — J.
What was Your favorite part of the teaser trailer? Best moment?..
Jack: ALL THE SCENES AND MOMENTS THAT AREN’T IN THERE THAT WILL WRECK YOU. YOU HAVEN’T SEEN ANYTHING YET!!!
Does Bill get ”final cut” for his films in general? Did he get it for Bd1&2?
Jack: That’s a complicated question. I’d say he’s generally very very happy with the cuts for both parts.
Is the trailer for US theaters only? It should be available to all countries.
Jack: I don’t know, honestly – depends on the distributor in each territory and also the exhibitors in same.
Hey Jack, are we going to see Jacob run away with Renesmee…or. you can’t tell us now?
Jack: I think it’s a bit soon for that. :-D
When in the movie do we first get to see Renesmee?
Jack: Just as soon as her vampire Mom gets to see her.
Did Rob play the entire song on the piano? Would be cute to see a full version on the DVD.
Jack: Hmm good idea, if they have the footage.
Will all of the images from the trailer be in the movie?
Jack: That’s a great great question and the answer is YES.
Comic Con is in July. Who will be there for BD2?
Jack: Comic-Con is less than a month away. Lots of cool people involved with the movie will be going down there! ;-D
What was the most emotional scene to film in bd2?
Jack: Depends on which emotion we’re talking about. ;-P
More…tears…
Jack: None.
More: even for the last scene of the movie?
Jack: Ask me about crying in movies in November.
The battle in the trailer with everyone running against each other is a vision of Alice’s or real?
Jack: Looks real to me!
Did we see any of the additional photography aka ”reshoots” in the trailer?
Jack: Yep, one shot. No, I won’t tell you which one. Rob isn’t in it. ;-P
Hey, Noel Fisher (Vladimir) will show at the movie right? Excited for his part!
Jack: Oh yeah, and he’s great in it. Do you follow him already?
Is there a Bella’s birthday mention in BD2?
Jack: Yes.
B&E will go to Alaska to find Denali’s clan contrary to the book where they wait for everybody?
Jack: Correct. It’s in the teaser trailer.
So much action in the trailer! I hope there will be romance also?
Jack: Yes, there will be plenty of romance throughout.
Oh question! We see a shot of Jane shaking her finger at a kid…looks to be old times…is it a flashback to when she was alive?
Jack: No, she’s pretty vampire there. @TwilightLexicon posted an article yesterday about the Immortal Children. That’s it.
More: Ahh ok, thought so cuz of her clothes but I always hoped to see her & Alec as the human ”witch twins” woulda been cool
Jack: Agreed, but gotta keep the story moving forward.
Any idea when the first single from the soundtrack will be coming out?#BDPart2
Jack: No idea, actually. Early days on all of that.
I heard there were a lot of pranks being played on set. Who did the most pranks?? What was the worst prank??
Jack: I was only on set for one day, so I have no idea. Sorry!
Can you confirm that the song from the Target clip will actually make the cut? *fingers crossed*
Jack: I can’t confirm that, actually. I’d have to ask. Ask me again in a few.
Is Alice’s vision going to be the reason behind Bella finding out about the Immortal Children???
Jack: Kinda sorta.
When will Twilight be at Comic Con, Thursday? I so hope that for you, M. Or can’t you say that yet, Jack?
Jack: Too soon to tell, so ya better get in that line good and early! ;-)
Was a Zafrina-Renesmee scene shot? I mean, when Zafrina shows Nessie her powers. :) PS The trailer is epic! I love it so much!!
Jack: Thank you for saying so! A variation on that scene was shot, yes.
That’s awesome! Thanks! I loved that scene in the book! Also, part of why the teaser is so epic is the score. Is it original?
Jack: I think its original music from the trailer house – it’s not part of Carter’s score for the movie.
How long is the second half?
Jack: Hahahaha nice try.
Benjamin is the ninja bending the water like a boss in the trailer, right?
Jack: Yes, and that’s exactly how he’s described in the script. ;-P
Okay will you see Jacob shape shift in front of Charlie?
Jack: Not answering that one either, which you’ve asked before haven’t you?
Will there be character posters for each of the new vampires?
Jack: I hope so, but who knows? "// Prietha

What’s the strangest gift you’ve got from a fan?
It’s funny: there are certain things that get picked up on really quickly. I quit smoking the other day and didn’t even really realise that I’d said anything about it. I’ve been chewing these f***ing toothpicks all the time. Someone noticed in Cannes and literally the next day in Lisbon, then in Paris and in Berlin there were about 20 people on the red carpet giving me huge amounts of toothpicks. Thousands of them. I don’t even remember saying it in an interview but I must have said it somewhere. That was kind of strange.
Within moments of meeting Robert Pattinson, GQ.com learns a valuable lesson: you simply can’t compete with Twilight fans. Having previously expressed his admiration for Martin Amis in an interview, it was decided we should present everyone’s favourite server-crashing undead heartthrob with a copy of the new Amis novel Lionel Asbo. Sadly one literary-minded Edward Cullen devotee has trumped our gift. ”I got given a first-edition signed copy of Money by a Twilight fan in Germany yesterday,” reveals Pattinson. ”She was trying to tell me that she found it in Massachusetts while we were surrounded by all these people screaming.”
Pattinson stars in David Cronenberg’s striking and strange new film Cosmopolis, out this week, which sees him as an otherworldly billionaire sating his carnal, financial and intellectual desires riding through town in the back of a limousine in search of a haircut. After some preliminaries (when presented with the latest edition of GQ he cries out ”Andrew’s wearing my suit!”), he talks about his hip-hop moment of glory, the worst haircut he’s ever had and what he’s learned from working with Frida Giannini at Gucci…
Your character has two lifts in his huge apartment, one of which is soundtracked by hip-hop. Which rapper would you have in your lift?
Robert Pattinson: Definitely Ol’ Dirty Bastard. The biopic looks amazing! That guy Michael K Williams as well – I was obsessed with The Wire for ages. The guy who is directing – Joaquín Baca-Asay, who is James Gray’s director of photography – is amazing. All his movies look incredible.
How did you feel when Tinie Tempah shouted you out on Chase & Status’ ”Hitz”?
What? [delighted, bewildered] I haven’t heard it. I keep hearing everyone talking about him but for some reason I never really got into British rap. I don’t know why.
The line is ”Like Rob Pattinson I make a lot of n****s jealous”
Wow. That’s really cool, actually. That’s amazing. I didn’t realise I had that relevance [laughs]. I wonder what made him single me out?
We asked our Twitter followers to pose questions for you. One account ”Robearhottinson” asked 48 alone…
Not your typical GQ reader, I’d guess…
But she did ask about your worst haircut…
I did this movie about Salvador Dali a few years ago and had hair extensions and a little bob. That was incredibly bizarre. The extensions were temporary as well. I was trying to swim to somehow get in shape two days before we started shooting in this apartment complex in Barcelona. There were all these children everywhere… and I was this weird, pasty, hungover person with a girl’s black bob, swimming in the pool with huge clumps of hair falling out. I had my whole body totally waxed as well because Dali didn’t haven’t any body hair. It was the most terrifying thing – this is terrible, but I saw the potential cannibal guy [Luka Magnotta] in the Sun today and I looked a bit like him.
Are sex scenes getting easier?
It’s always a big thing. Juliette Binoche is one of my favourite actresses and within five minutes of meeting her on this we were pretending to have sex. Which wasn’t in the script. With both sex scenes we were supposed to have finished sex before we did the scene. Both times David was just like, ”Yeah, just have sex.” That was a little awkward. I thought that Patricia McKenzie, who I did the other sex scene with, despised me up until that day on the set. We hadn’t said a single word to each other apart from when I asked, ”Where are you from?” and she literally looked me up and down. I was like, ”I’m not trying to do anything – I don’t have any idea!” Then on day of the sex scene she was like, ”Hey how’s it going?” I don’t know what kind of preparation that was for this scene… but it definitely did something.
What TV do you never miss?
In America there is a channel called TruTV which is just reruns of Cops and World’s Dumbest Criminals. I could watch that the entire day. Someone told me – I don’t know if it’s true – that David Simon watched tonnes of Cops to get the dialogue for The Wire. I was like, ”I knew it…”
What has working with Frida and her team at Gucci taught you about tailoring?
That’s funny, I’ve never had her singled out before – it’s like it’s a secret! She taught me one thing – you should definitely have good contacts at Gucci. They’re absolutely amazing. The amount of times I’ve been stuck in some random city and have called her up and had things brought in at absolutely the last minute – it’s crazy. But also all this stuff is custom-made. You can do quite crazy things [with colour] if you have incredibly classic, really well-made suits. I guess I’ve been quite boring for a while. I used to be more interesting with them. Now I always just request things two days before: ”Can you send 25 suits?” I don’t even know what I want to wear!
What’s the strangest gift you’ve got from a fan?
It’s funny: there are certain things that get picked up on really quickly. I quit smoking the other day and didn’t even really realise that I’d said anything about it. I’ve been chewing these f***ing toothpicks all the time. You are one of four individuals who consistently dominate internet discussion. Out of your rivals – Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga – who are you most fond of?
I really like Nicki Minaj. I think she’s great. My favourite song? She’s amazing in ”Monster” with Kanye West. It’s annoying that I’m part of this internet thing though – they all have Twitters and an online presence. How did I get part of this group? I didn’t do anything. I’m trying to avoid it!

Intervju med Rob i The Guardian UK
Här kommer en ny intervju från The Guardian UK med Robert Pattinson. Han pratar bland annat om Cosmopolis, kritik och att han hatar smeknamnet ”RPattz”.
”I don’t really know how accepted I am,” says Robert Pattinson as he sips on an enormous paper cup of Coke. ”Nothing ever matters to me apart from the people with negative opinions. That’s literally it. That always drives me on to the next thing. It’s funny, you just focus on them and then the next movie. That’s the only thing you’re thinking about when it comes out.”
For someone with the world at his feet – he has the Twilight franchise behind him and David Cronenberg’s icy drama Cosmopolis as his next release – Pattinson gives a good impression of a man plagued with self-doubt. ”I’ve never really taken myself seriously as an actor,” he says, fresh off a plane from Germany, where, he notes by the by, everybody seems to hate him.
”It is surprising the amount of people who think I’m going to be really dumb,” he says. ”I think they think anyone who has done teen movies is just an idiot. I don’t know, maybe I am. Some of the best actors, if you talk to them, they’re not the smartest people in the world.”
Eric Packer, the character Pattison plays in Cosmopolis is not stupid. The film, an adaptation of Don DeLillo’s 2003 novel set mostly in Packer’s limousine, concerns a financial whiz-kid who is either having sex, having a finger inserted into his bottom (an on-the-move prostate exam), engaging in lengthy overblown monologues, losing vast sums of money, dodging an assassin, seeking a haircut, or all of the above. The film premiered at this year’s Cannes film festival. The majority of reviews have been positive, particularly in Pattinson’s favour, but frankly, it could have gone either way. It is not the most easily palatable of films.
‘It’s so different to other films, and that’s one of the reasons I wanted to do it. You read the script and you’re like, ”Is this actually getting made? It’s set in a car, there’s so much talking about experimental economics”‘
”It’s funny. It got such divisive reactions in Cannes,” Pattinson says, before confessing to having compulsively sought out those reactions himself. ”I was sitting in the car on the way back from the press conference, refreshing, refreshing, refreshing on my phone. I’ve never really done anything where people have hated it, or really, really read into it. It’s so different to other films, and that’s one of the reasons I wanted to do it. You read the script and you’re like, ‘Is this actually getting made? It’s set in a car, there’s so much talking about experimental economics, and it’s getting a wide release? But I think that’s important, I would do a lot to get movies like that into the cinema again. There is some weird thing that’s happened where the only thing that can be shown is a superhero movie that has cost $250m to make. It’s the most ridiculous thing ever.”
Of course, Pattinson has had his own part in that ridiculousness. By playing abstemious bloodsucker Edward Cullen in the five-part Twilight franchise (the final instalment of which comes out this winter) he has made studio Summit Entertainment two and a half billion dollars and himself into an international teen sex object. Moving on from that role will not be easy, and this is not Pattinson’s first attempt at departure.
There was also, to name but two, this year’s Bel Ami, the adaptation of the 1885 French novel, which, as Pattinson puts it, ”kind of came and went”, and Water For Elephants (2011), another relatively underwhelming book adaptation in which he co-starred with Reese Witherspoon as a circus vet. Neither particularly helped him to break into the acting mainstream. Now it’s Cosmopolis, and a role Pattinson seems equally thrilled and baffled about.
”It’s like nothing I’d really done before, and I didn’t really understand it,” says Pattinson, 26, now chewing on a toothpick, partly to rid himself of the remnants of a quarter pounder with cheese and partly because he is trying to give up smoking.
”I kept asking David, ‘What have you seen?’ I just thought, ‘Please don’t let this be a financing thing.’” He pauses. ”But you need to piggy back on other people’s credibility, because people are so judgmental. Once you’ve made one impression, that’s it. I planned for it to take ten years for that to dissipate, so to get into Cannes the year that [Twilight] is finishing was fairly ridiculous.”
Cannes, it seems, was a huge deal for Pattinson. While he and girlfriend Kristen Stewart, his co-star in the Twilight movies, became paparazzi and fan obsessions overnight, you sense that he has yet to make peace with his fame. A reluctant heart-throb, today he wears a black cap, a grey shirt over an off-white T-shirt, black jeans and black trainers. There is nothing about him that says superstar, give or take the chiseled features and minder outside. Neither is there much that projects the confidence you’d expect of someone who’d driven themselves to the top of one of the world’s most competitive industries.
”Everybody liked [Cronenberg's] A History of Violence and Eastern Promises, but they’re much more accessible than this,” he says. ”That made me nervous, because I thought everyone wants to see Viggo Mortensen shooting people, and this is just sitting around talking about currency markets. But the first few reviews were pretty good, and I’ve never really felt like that with a movie. It’s definitely the best-reviewed thing I’ve ever done. Most of the time, I don’t read them, especially with the Twlight films, where people are overwhelmed by what their opinion of the cultural relevance of it is. But with this, I read a lot, and I was terrified.”
Cosmopolis, without any actual intent, has found itself tapping into the zeitgeist. Just as shooting on the film commenced, so did the Occupy movement. In the movie, Packer is driven through New York City, through protest after protest about the failings of a capitalist society. In life, Pattinson found the images he was filming being mirrored on news channels.
Once again, however, his memories are tinted with ambivalence. ”I remember when Occupy happened in LA,” he says. ”I knew a bunch of actors who went down to it. They all drove down there, because no one takes the train, and parked one stop away, because they didn’t want to be seen driving their free Audis, and then got on the train. I was like, ‘What are you doing? You’re probably ruining it for the other people!’ I guess that’s kind of a bubble; you want to say things, but you are being hypocritical. I’ve never really been in a position to give my opinion on political stuff before, it doesn’t really come up. But suddenly you’ve got to take an enormous amount of responsibility.”
‘I was always shit at auditions. Since Twilight, I’ve done two. One of them was for a job I’m doing now and it was really hard’
Pattinson’s career to this point hasn’t given him much of an opportunity to develop a huge rapport with an audience of his own age, or older. But Pattinson is also an interesting casting for Cronenberg. The director’s most recent outing, A Dangerous Method, had Michael Fassbender spanking Keira Knightley, while Viggo Mortensen analysed their every move (Mortensen, of course, being a favourite of his). But, from almost every interview that has come from Cronenberg, it seems that he does not have a single regret about plucking Patinson from teenage dreams to front such complex subject matter. And while Pattinson admits getting his head around the script was no mean feat, you sense he hopes the commitment to justifying Cronenberg’s risk-taking could change his career.
”When I got this part,” he says, adjusting his cap, ”every single article that came out, was, ‘R-Patz’s struggle for credibility!’; I don’t understand who invented that thing, ‘R-Patz’, I want to strangle them. But once you’ve made that step, everything afterwards is not like, ‘R-Patz’s continuing struggle for credibility!’ You’ve got to come up with something else, so it gets a little bit easier. I was always shit at auditions. Since Twilight, I’ve done two. One of them was for a job I’m doing now and it was really hard. Two really, really long auditions that everybody was going up for. I was so happy afterwards when I got it. And it was purely because of Cosmopolis that I was thinking, ‘You can go and do this as an actor, rather than just as the guy from Twilight, because you’ve got some foreign value now.’”
For every positive review, it will be the negative that stays with Robert Pattinson. But if our conversation is anything to go by, it seems that he’s shaking off the self-censorship that came with being the face of a massive movie brand. If that happens, he might just start to enjoy himself, too.
