Ny intervju med Peter Facinelli
Här kommer en ny intervju med Peter Facinelli (Carlise) från Comic Con i Chile. Intervjun är översätt från spanska till engelska. Han pratar bland annat om hur det känns att Twilightsagan börjar gå mot sitt slut.
- As an actor how do you feel that this is the last part of the saga?
As an actor you know there comes a moment when the work must come to an end. It was a wonderful experience in my career, and it’s bitter and sweet all at once, because on one hand you’re happy to go ahead with other projects, but also sad because you’re not going to see your friends all the time.
In this interview, the actor talks about his feelings about the imminent end of the saga ”Twilight” and his desires to consolidate as a writer and producer of his own tapes.
‘I’m very excited to be here, it all started on Twitter where I have many fans and everyone always told me to come to Chile to meet and the organizer of Comic Con contacted me through Twitter and I found it very entertaining to come to this country and meet the fans. I’ve never been here and it brought my daughter to know Chile.
‘It was an incredible experience for me as an actor, I feel very fortunate to be part of it. I have been working for 18 years in the industry and Twilight fans are very loyal. Even before the movies came out, came the fans of the books. Luckily they liked the tapes and have always given support.
‘I think nobody could have expected the success we have had. When we were filming, so just wanted to make a good movie for fans of the books and hopefully we could do a sequel.
‘Yes, what happens is that the vampires were playing at the time they were writing the books, were different, more horror films, very violent, more like zombie movies and I was not interested in making such films. But when I read the book I realized that ”Twilight” was not that, but it was a beautiful love story with vampires. It also reminded me of the vampire classic, which was more sensual, mysterious and beautiful creatures.
-The other players have only 10 years younger, so I do not feel like the old guy, I’m more a brother than a father and we all come together. It’s not like ‘oh no, here comes the father’ (laughs) I’ve never felt like the old. I worked with people 10 years or so.
- (Laughs) I really think I’m aiming to be the grandfather vampire sexy (laughs) That would be something …
- No! (Laughs) walk around feeling sexy would be a problem, is that someone tells you to, but not feeling well.
-Sale in November this year and is the latest installment. The first part was very intimate, it was about Bella becoming a vampire, and the second is a vampire, but has a child vampire and half human and Volturi see this as a threat and want to kill the child to our family and this is the greatest threat. Then my character meets a vampire series from around the world to fight them.

-To me they are very different films. I saw and really enjoyed ”Hunger Games”, but not compared with the saga of ”Twilight”, in fact when it appeared ”Twilight” everyone compared it to ”Harry Potter” and are totally different. And the same feel to ”hungy Games”, so we need not compete with this film in any way. People can see the two without any problems.
‘It was a wonderful experience for me because when you’re an actor you have to tell the story of another person, but when you write your story and have the possibility to build a team, to provide jobs. I prefer that.In any case, always be working on other films, as I find interesting.
‘Yes, but once sold a Hallmark Channel movie that starred, but wrote only. I have another movie that I made script and I’ll start working on it in summer.
- There are a couple of scripts I’m seeing, but I have also Facinelli Films, if not make my own movie. I like having that control, rather than waiting for other films that I can like them or not.

”I remember when I was in the first `Twilight’ movie, I really wanted to not have Edward touch Bella, apart from when he saves her life and when they kiss the first time,” said Pattinson, lightly rumpled but friendly and poised after a long day of press interviews. ”I was thinking of the (Ang Lee) movie `Lust, Caution,’ and thinking there should be this tension there the whole time – just standing near someone there’s electricity.
CANNES, France – Robert Pattinson has gone from playing a vampire to depicting another kind of bloodsucker – a billionaire financier whose world crumbles in the course of a nightmarish cross-town drive in ”Cosmopolis.”
The ”Twilight” heartthrob stars in David Cronenberg’s Cannes Film Festival entry as sleek, self-centered moneyman Eric Packer, who sees his fortune and sense of self evaporate during an eventful day in his stretch limo.
Pattinson’s famously handsome face is on-screen in every scene, but ”Twilight”`s young fans may be surprised and confused by a film that explores Cronenberg’s fascination with physical, social and psychic violence.
The 26-year-old actor is not worried.
”If some 12-year-olds went to go and see that, or got the video for their birthday – sitting down and watching that, it’s incredible,” the actor said during an interview on a Cannes hotel rooftop. ”I would love that to happen if I was a kid.”
It’s a bit of amiable mischief-making from an actor who wants to be known as more than doe-eyed vampire Edward Cullen, in love with human Bella Swan in the ”Twilight” saga.
He said he craves the cinematic understatement that blockbusters don’t always provide.
”I remember when I was in the first `Twilight’ movie, I really wanted to not have Edward touch Bella, apart from when he saves her life and when they kiss the first time,” said Pattinson, lightly rumpled but friendly and poised after a long day of press interviews. ”I was thinking of the (Ang Lee) movie `Lust, Caution,’ and thinking there should be this tension there the whole time – just standing near someone there’s electricity.
”But sometimes it just makes things too hard. You kind of forget that most people want to go to the cinema just to watch a movie rather than watch something really weird.”
”Weird” is par for the course with Cronenberg, and Pattinson gets plenty of scope to stretch himself in ”Cosmopolis,” playing a hollow-eyed Master of the Universe forced to confront his mortality.
Events, emotion and violence keep intruding on the hermetically sealed universe of his limo as he tries, futilely, to cross a crisis-wracked Manhattan in search of a haircut.
Packer crosses paths with characters including his aloof wife (Sarah Gadon), his arty lover (Juliette Binoche), a pie-throwing protester (Mathieu Amalric) and a murderously angry former employee (Paul Giamatti).
Packer is not, to put it mildly, a likable character. Some have seen him as an avatar of Wall Street excess, but Pattinson says he watched interviews with serial killers Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy, rather than real-life financiers, to help him create the character’s voice.
”He’s like an alien,” Pattinson said of the character.
”He’s not part of his body. Everything is an abstraction. The world’s an abstraction. Everything is.”
The film has been widely described as a dystopian reflection of the present crisis of capitalism – but Pattinson sees it in a more cheerful light, as Packer learns to face his humanity.
”I always thought it’s kind of a happy story, up until the right at the very end,” he said.
”He’s suddenly starting to feel and he becomes more physical as the day goes on, more alive. He feels like he’s part of the world.”
Packer is cut off from other humans by wealth and temperament, cocooned in his car and protected by vigilant bodyguards. Pattinson has, to an extent, been cut off by fame. He and his girlfriend and ”Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart are magnets for paparazzi and fans.
Pattinson said the experience had given him insight into some aspects of Packer’s situation.
”Some of the stuff with the bodyguard, because when I’m doing press and stuff and when I’m working I have a bodyguard who I get really close with,” he said. ”There’s a very specific relationship and that was one of the things I kind of got.”
Pattinson’s ”Twilight” fame has trailed with him around Cannes, but Cronenberg said it had no bearing on his decision to cast the actor.
”You must ignore the baggage,” the director said.
”It is very easy to say that this character, Eric Packer, is vampire or a werewolf of Wall Street, But really that’s rather superficial. He’s a real character and a real person in the movie.
”This is a real person, with a history and a past. And the history and the past is not `Twilight.’ It’s `Cosmopolis.’”
Pattinson came to Cannes with Stewart, who appears in Jack Kerouac adaptation ”On the Road.”
”She found out a lot earlier than I did that it (”On the Road”) was in competition,” Pattinson said – leaving him seething.
He’s happy now, though, and still can’t believe the reaction to the strange and unsettling ”Cosmopolis.”
”When there’s people screaming outside, I’m like, `This is incredible,’” he said. ”That people are screaming for this, the most bizarre movie – it’s amazing.
”I wasn’t expecting anyone to get it. Even last night (at the premiere), I was expecting everyone to walk out.”

Michel: You were here in 2009, you walked the red carpet. We have footage. You did it again yesterday for another movie, for On the Road and you’re going to do it again tomorrow for your first movie in competition. Cosmopolis by David Cronenberg, that’s long-awaited. You said this movie changed you life. I quote from Premiere magazine: you said it gave you balls.
Rob: I don’t know why everyone brings up the balls thing. I think it got lost in translation. I wanted to say that I got balls surgically attached to my body during the whole movie.
Michel: So it’s the story of a golden boy working in finance, an adaptation from Don DeLillo’s novel, Frédéric.
Frédéric: He’s an AMmrican author that’s very well-known who talked a lot about society and the dangers of finance. But also about power. I was thinking, I mean I’m sure you’ve read the book to prepare for the role but did you also study bankers or watch trader movies, Wall Street or American Psycho maybe to work on the role of Eric Packer, this dangerous banker? That was a long question.
Rob: I didn’t think it was related to finances or traders. I liked the lyrical aspect of the script. I tried to prepared myself my own way like for my other roles. But it was pretty much impossible because there was no way to deal with this the normal way.
I don’t know, there might be some inconscious aspects that come out of the character.
Ariane: Sarah, apparently you guys had a fight on the first day on set?
Frédéric: You’re his wife, right?
Ariane: Is that true?
Sarah: No!
Frédéric: In the movie you have a fight.
Ariane: Robert, on the first day on set, apparently she asked you how you worked on your character and you got upset?
Rob: Oh no, it wasn’t an argument. It’s just that she asked me an embarrassing question and ..
Sarah: I just asked how he prepared for the role, I’m sorry
Rob: And I started crying, there.
Sarah: I’m sorry, maybe I shouldn’t have. I just, I was trying to make conversation, I wasn’t trying to fight.
Rob: I was so nervous, if anyone asked me anything, even for a camera test, I was shocked and panicked. It was terrible.
Michel talks about the movie coming out tomorrow in France and then they show the trailer.
Michel says that the movie happens in one day, in pretty much only one setting, in Manatthan that’s stopped because of the president’s visit’s in town.
There are French actors in the movie, Mathieu Almaric and Juliette Binoche.
Rob: Oh sorry, I am so deaf. I’m 26 and an old man already.
Élise: We know that you’re an Audiard fan, could we see you one day make a movie with a French director?
Rob: No, definitely. My next film is with Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire, who directed Johnny Mad Dog that was presented here a few years ago. I love French filmmakers, I love French people, they’re very easy to like.
Asking Sarah about filming with Brandon Cronenberg and if it was different working with both father and son.
Sarah: there’s definitely a ‘Cronenberg gene’and it was fun to see the difference between the two directors.
Asking her about David not giving much direction son his sets and if she was surprised when she saw Cosmopolis.
Sarah: When I saw Cosmopolis was I surprised? No, not really at all. I think david knows exactly what he wants when he directs you. It was sort of like a journey and what I admire is all these layers, finding meanings hidden behind other meanings. You see things completely differently after that.
Michel: We received Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart not long ago and in La Boite Questions, one was about you, Robert Pattinson.
Question: Something really not sexy about Robert Pattinson?
Kristen: Oh come on.
Charlize: I’m gonna have to say his socks?
What’s the matter with your socks?
Rob: Charlize likes to come into my house at night and sniff my socks and underwears. When you do stuff like that, there are necessarily some surprises. It’s not my fault.
Do you have socks on right now?
Rob: *laughs* Yesss. I’m really nervous now that there might be something wrong with my socks, I never payed attention to it before. It’s so weird.
You’re reaching a mark with Cosmopolis and then we’ll see you again in Breaking Dawn part 2.
Rob: Yeah, it’s coming out in November. It’s funny we did some reshoots recently and it’s funny. I mean the Twilight movies aren’t funny but we do laugh a lot. I hope that people will like it.
And then Frédéric asked Rob to sign an autograph for his daughter.
Finally, they’re saying that the movie premieres tomorrow and that we might see on Sunday night for the winner’s announcement. Thank you both for coming.

Men in suits, bodyguard in mirrored sunglasses and earphones. The sky above Mahhattan is a gray and, during the two hours of Cosmopolis, will turn increasingly to black.
Eric Packer, golden boy of finance, enter into a limo and its driver, face sculpted by man of the Russian intelligence services, informs him that traffic was paralyzed for the visit of President of the United States. But he is not interested now just needs a good haircut, and the only barber in a position to satisfy the other side of town. (…)
Transpose into a Hollywood movie one of the most visionary novels of Don DeLillo – written in 2001, is a prophecy of Occupy Wall Street and everything that we are living – was an impossible task that only a director like David Cronenberg’s brave could succeed. And just as brave as a director David Cronenberg was reminded of entrusting the starring Robert Pattinson.
It is true that Pattinson is not only Twilight, the saga will end November 14 with
Breaking Dawn – Part 2: between one episode and others, has also starred in Remember Me (2010), Water for Elephants (2011) and the recent Bel Ami. But it is clear that a character like this can do for him the difference between staying anchored to the fangs of the vampire Edward Cullen and be admitted into the club of actors to Serie A.

I was more nervous for the actresses. When a man takes off his clothes he may feel stupid, but in the end he enjoys himself. I think it’s different for a woman, more problematic.

Writing-directing team Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, who became darlings of the indie scene following "Half Nelson" and "Sugar," have set their next picture, a drama titled "Hate Mail."
Project will be fully financed by Wayfare Entertainment, which previously produced Fleck and Boden's adaptation of Ned Vizzini's novel "It's Kind of a Funny Story."
"Hate Mail" will feature interweaving stories about several Manhattanites who encounter various iterations of hate mail and grapple with the subsequent fallout of their relationships.
Project reunites the filmmakers with a quartet of past collaborators, as Jamie Patricof will produce through his Hunting Lane Films banner, while Paul Mezey will produce via his Journeyman Pictures shingle. Wayfare's Ben Browning and Jeremy Kipp Walker will also produce.
Mezey previously produced "Sugar" and exec produced "Half Nelson," while Patricof produced both of those films.
Fleck and Boden are repped by WME and Management 360.

Ashley Greenes nya film LOL har snart premiär. Närmare bestämt på min födelsedag den 13 juni! Det är bara några dagar efter SWATH som har premiär den 8 Juni. Med tanke på att det finns information om filmen på SF.se så utgår jag från att den kommer att gå upp på biodukarna även här i Sverige, men jag vet dock ingenting om när det är möjligt att förahandsboka biljetter. Här nedan kan ni se trailern för filmen i alla fall!
Jackson Rathbones senaste projekt är Zombie Hamlet trailern finns här under. Förutom den filmen så råkar jag vet att hans film Cowgirls N' Angels hade världspremiär på Dallas International Film Festival förra månaden. Om ni inte har sett vare sig filmen eller trailern till den så föreslår jag att ni kikar på även den här nedan.

Up to date - Vad gör twiskådisarna?
Den senaste tiden har jag, i Ronjas och Olivias frånvaro, mest koncentrerat mig på att blogga kring de etablerade castmedlemmarnas pågående projekt. Föga förvånande har det blivit otroligt mycket Kristen Stewart den senaste tiden eftersom att hon alldeles snart gör premiär med en ny storfilm. Men när jag började kika runt lite noggrannare idag så upptäckte jag att många av våra stjärnor har nya projekt på gång. Jag presenterar några av de mest intressanta nedan, hoppas att ni tycker att det här är lika givande läsning som den vanliga uppdateringen. Om ni har en åsikt eller helt enkelt bara vill dela med er av era intryck så får ni mer än gärna lämna ett litet avtryck i form av en kommentar!Ashley Greene är en av alla skådespelarna som har försvunnit lite grann i vågen av KStew, men faktum är att hennes nya film `LOL´ har premiär ett par dagar efter SWATH - den 13 juni närmare bestämt. Anna Kendrick har åtminstone två filmer som har premiär under det är året. Välkända komedin `What to expect when you're expecting´ hade världspremiär för några dagar sedan, och det är en film ni verkligen inte får missa. Jag har hysteriskt roligt bara jag tittar på trailern, kommer dö av skratt om jag ser filmen (förmodligen, om jag skriver ett inlägg efter att jag sett filmen så lever jag ;)) Haha. Förutom denna komedi så har också filmen `End of Watch´ premiär i slutet av september. Trailers för båda filmerna finns nedan.
What to expect when expecting har premiär den 25 maj i Sverige
Ytterligare en skådespelerska som det inte talas mycket om, men som har många järn i elden, är Maggie Grace. När hon fick rollen som Irina i Breaking Dawn hade jag ingen aning om vilken bra och skicklig skådespelerska hon är, men ju mer jag ser av henne i diverse filmer och trailers desto mer älskar jag henne! Under 2012 så kommer hennes actionfilm `Lockout´ att ha premiär.
Dakota Fanning må vara ung, men oerfaren är hon definitivt inte. Under 2012 så har hon inte mindre än tre filmer som ska ha premiär - `The Motel Life´, `Effie´ och `Now is good´. De två först nämnda har ännu inte fått något releasedatum, och förutom några osammanhängande stillbilder och mer eller mindre konstiga sammanfattningar så finns det inte så mycket material kring dem. Till filmen `Now is good´ så finns det däremot en superbra trailer, se den nedan!
Edi Gathegi, som vi känner igen som Laurent i Twilight, har fått två olika roller i kommande amerikanska TV-serier. En av dem, `Red Widow´, är skriven av Melissa Rosenberg, manusförfattarinnan till den filmatiserade versionen av Twilightsagan. Serien har premiär under nästa år, men redan nu kan ni se trailern nedan. Ni måste klicka på länken

Madrid is my favorite city, but I’ve spent little time here. I don’t know how it would be to live here permanently. Last time i was here I didn’t sleep for 2 days. But it wasn’t because I was a bad girl. This city is contagious.

They asked me that the other day and its hard to say but, I think I have some of both. They’re both great girls.
What is your favorite number, color and song?
Hi, my favorite number is 8. I have various favorite colors. Right now my favorite color is red. I can listen to the same song over and over for months at a time, right now its ‘Towers’, by Bon Iver.
Can you tell us a funny story from filming?
The prince can not lift up his arm without hitting himself or fainting. There was a scene where he was on top of the horse and his foot got caught and bracket in the middle of the fighting scene and he couldn’t move. He also always looked like a turtle when he put his armor on.
Do you know how to speak Spanish?
Only a little bit, I’m from Los Angeles and I should speak alot.
If you had the opportunity to change something about your live, would you do it? And what would it be?
Thats a tough one. I would like to take my pets with me on an airplane. I would love to teleport myself.

I dont have a favorite movie. Not just one.
To play the character of Snow White did you have to push your self to do it?
It was hard transforming into her. Her force comes from within. She’s a very sweet girl but at the same time fear makes her do impossible things. She’s a very complex character.
How do you think Snow White would be in the year 2012?
The cool thing about our film is that, despite having a medieval atmosphere, this is a hard world that requires her to be strong. I would love to see her at our present time, i bet she would be into politics.
Can you explain in your own words how you feel to know that without even realizing you are very present in the dreams of many people? and please you could get out of mine? thanks
It’s strange. The reason that I like my job is the creative energy. When someone is touched by what i do it excites me a lot, and it motivates me to continue working.

It becomes a war movie. There is such a growth that happens at the end that its very important. The speech in Braveheart, I prepared alot for it, we rewrote it a thousand times until it sounded right. For me, that was the moment I let go and believed what i was saying in every word.

Kristen loves that the costumes by Colleen Atwood are so detailed and tell things about the character.
Sam’s wardrobe was more difficult (wear armor) but nevertheless felt comfortable with her wardrobe.
Charlize admits that there is a certain pleasure in see the villains, something that makes them very attractive.

Have you been tempted to do something more childish with the project? Rupert says there is no darkness without light but he wouldn’t change the tone.
Charlize stand out the importance of setting a tone in the film, and in this case could not sacrifice the tone by introducing comedy.
In fact, Rupert Sanders reminds us that fairy tales are actually darker than what we remember.
Kristen points out that in Snow White is a calm and patience that isn’t now in the “strong women” in films.
Ravenna has a negative relationship with men. Charlize hates movies where the message is “men vs. women”.
Comments about Sam working on several films with Ian McShane… He is one of the dwarves!
Charlize: “Rescuing someone is much more than wake her with a kiss, that’s a wink to the story. This Snow White doesn’t need them to be rescued.
Charlize: “I hope my Oscar wasn’t only because I was ugly…” Ensures that beauty is not everything.
Charlize as a former model, has struggled to break that image but says she doesn’t choose her roles based on the appearance.
Kristen says that as a child she didn’t dream about being Snow White, but She did have an armor.

He hid his intense beauty under a baseball cap, a blonde scruff, a lumberkjack shirt, a white tee and washed out jeans. They had the interview on the terrace where he could light up his cigarettes.
Between light coughs and nervous laughs, he explains that he doesn't feel at home here.
His dream is to work in a black comedy of Todd Solodnz or in dramas for men by James Gray or Jacques Audiard.
"I was scared of being cut off from the art-house cinema that I always felt passionate about. I was scared to never be asked to play in anything interesting, that my life would pass and that someone would ask me one day, 'so apart from Twilight, what did you do?'. In this industry, you're easily typecast"
"I never proved anything, I was never fooled by the hysteria that surrounds me. It's the character that I play, Edward Cullen, the romantic vampire. Besides, before the movie was even made, girls would screams at Stephenie Meyer's public readings."
When he got the script for Cosmopolis: He got the fear of the beginner/novice. "I was so scared I would screw this up that I spent a week trying to find a way to refuse the job. And then I told myself that I shouldn't be so stuck-up. My agent was nervous: 'why would you accept if you don't understand it?'. I confessed my confusion to David and he liked it. I think that might be why he hired me. Most actors would have try to act cooler, try to say something smart but I was completely lost."
Cronenberg said that the actor didn't come on set with his hands in his pockets. That he's an assiduous reader, who's been interested in the character of the 'golden boy' for a long while, one who's close to the one he portrays in Cosmopolis. 'Money' by Martin Amis - which describes the giddy heights of easy money and the chic hedonism - is one of his bedtime readings. He finds so many similarities with himself in the empty space of the star system, that he wrote how own version of the novel, in hopes of playing it one day.
"I thought about it for Cosmopolis of course but the characters are too different and Cronenberg prefered that I knew nothing. He wanted me to give in, to say my lines in almost an abstract way, like poetry. It was exciting and a little scary. Today I'm nervous about the idea of having to talk to an audience about a movie that stays dark. But Cronenberg, himself, wanted to have something that escapes him. He would tell me about Fellini and say that a filmmaker that has a goal is dead already. It's so much more interesting than to know right away where an artist is gonna take you. Plus, its' the first time I really like one of the movies I make."

"At the beginning, I was sort of repelled by the vanity of actors. I wanted to write before everything else, but pretty fast I had to find myself. In a humdrum way, acting seemed the best way for me to express what I couldn't say in a different way."
(The article then mentions his role cut in Vanity Fair and Harry Potter. His verve, his arrogance and his disposition didn't offer him many roles. )
"I was at loss, I would do one acting job after the other without any consistency. Thirty euros days job. When I was offered Twilight, I didn't have a choice. It had been three years that my agent in Hollywood would try to find me a job without any luck. Usually, after six months of unsuccessfull search, you're dead in this industry, but she kept believing. I was never fascinated by a role but when I'm chosen I give myself to my character at 150%."
The Twilight saga that was about to eat him whole, will end next Fall.
"I'm curious to reunite with this universe for the last time, to see the effect it will have on me and on the audience. I feel like the frenzy is starting to die down. We step into the era of The Hunger Games, the world wants fresh meat!"
Today Robert Pattinson has five next projects lined up, including one in Iraq. And since he knows that "you only get to have one or two failures before you're forgotten," he speaks about going back to music and writing songs, inspired by Van Morrison's Beside You and Neil Young's Ambulance Blues. He also has in mind the idea of a movie and a TV show, he never gave up on being his own author and to work with determination on the script of an ambitious project - a trilogy of fantasty adventures (and politics), freely adaptated from a successful novel.
"People are listening to me right now so I take advantage of it. I don't think authors last very long in our time and I love this job way too much to let it go away."

Deadline reporterade att Robert Pattinson (som spelar snygga Edward) kommer vara med i thriller filmen "Mission: Blacklist". Den fokuserar på jakten av Saddam Hussein. Det finns inga detaljer på när filmen komemr starta filma men mer finns nedanför på engelska Robert Pattinson has come on board to star in the upcoming film “Mission: Blacklist” with Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire committed to direct.
